Nature's Valley

Today we work up in Jeffrey's Bay and had a yummy breakfast there at the backpackers. It reminded me of old times when I was backpacking around Europe. Lots of young people hanging out and having fun. And what a great place to do it. Sun, surf and sand!

After we checked out of our room we went to all the surfie factory shops to look for flip flops and see if there was anything else good. Factory shops are factory shops for a reason and you need a lot of patience to sift through all the crap in order to find the one good thing. I hate shopping at the best of times and prefer to do it all online so I couldn't be bothered today. We did get our flip flops though so it wasn't a complete disaster.

The weather wasn't the best in the morning so we didn't even go to the beach. The waves were flat too so no good for surfing. There were some trying though. If you come all the way to surf J-Bay, you're gonna surf J-Bay no matter what!

After our shopping mission we decided to check out Plett. We are gonna stay with our good friend Tia who lives on the way so we thought we would check it out and see if there was somewhere nice to picnic and throw a line. No such luck, we couldn't really find what we were looking for so headed back towards Tia's place and found Natures Valley! Wonderful scenic spot! We had our lunch and mark even caught a fish! So we'll be eating well tonight!

Fish for dinner tonight!

Tia's little cottage is absolutely stunning! It looks like a log cabin in the middle of the country. We unpacked our car as its going in for a wash tomorrow then we went to the beach so Dane could surf. When we got down there, it wasn't really suitable for surfing so Tia and Dane had a swim while we played with their dog, Shadow. It was pretty cold and windy so mark and I weren't really that keen for a swim.
Then we went back to their place to eat our fish.

Tia's very cute puppy, Shadow!

Mark butterflied the fish and made a garlic butter sauce with apricot jam to put on it. We ate such a lekker dinner as Tia made rice and salad as well. After dinner we sat and caught up with Tia as I hadn't seen her for ages.
