Today was a driving day. We covered over 400km of straight roads down Route 62 through barren desert.
We then went through the House River Pass.
Stopped at Ronnie's sex shop for lunch. In the middle of nowhere there is a bar and restaurant. Apparently it was just called Ronnie's shop but someone spray painted "sex" on the sign and it stuck.
It was incredibly mountainous, nothing for miles then we went past a couple of homesteads and even a school. Every time we got passed the next mountain ridge, we thought the mountains were done but they went on forever!
Plenty Aloe growing in the fields
We saw an All blacks flag flying at backpackers in small village Barrydale!
We then entered the Cape winelands district.
We went through Montegu, a quaint little village surrounded by huge mountains, there was the same red rock everywhere. It really was a gorgeous town and I would love to come back one day and visit properly! The people are still living in the original houses and the church there was built in 1907.
